7 important tips to keep in mind

Over the years, HNCO has built extensive experience in system procurement. Based on several hundred procurement processes, we have gathered several recommendations that we consider good practice when acquiring business systems:
- Spend a little time with many vendors and a lot of time with a few
- Ensure as much dialogue as possible with vendors throughout the process
- Create a description of the business needs—but don’t make it too detailed
- Focus on special or unique requirements
- Request proposals from a maximum of three vendors
- Insist on meeting the team that will handle the implementation
- Better to choose the second-best system with the best implementation partner than the best system with the wrong implementation partner
